in the middle of the night
I felt your presence come near
not a ghost but the sense of a beloved
watching out with heavenly care


I welcomed the touch on my heart
wondering if it was time
for me to finally depart
and fly free to you
and never again be apart


listen softly so softly when Spirit speaks
in mystic ways that brings love
and the light of the soul
that those on the path heed


although it’s not always clear
the exact meaning of why Spirit appears
always take notice and welcome
the moments of magic
when this connection is here


for there are many dimensions
and so many ways
we can interact with mysteries of life
and communicate with the God
and his angels each day
it leads us to be able to see
this power of Gods loving energy
